Both versions will work just as hard in Q4. Only one of them will be spending that effort on output instead of on managing avoidable friction.

What September was actually for

In August, the leak was individual — sleep, bracing, decisions re-opened: Fix the Leaks Before You Accelerate. This month it’s relational: the partnership standard nobody named, the relationship running on assumption instead of design, the identity still negotiating with who you were in July.

The foundation, not the sprint

This isn’t a call to try harder in Q4. It’s a call to enter it with fewer unresolved systems running in the background, quietly taxing everything you do on top of them.

The mechanical fixes still apply — the same fifteen-minute overrides that close an individual leak work on a relational one too, once you’ve actually named where it is.

Where you stand right now

Walk through the last four weeks honestly. Did you have the partnership conversation. Did you look at the relationship instead of assuming it’s fine. Did you decide who’s running the next four months, or is July still negotiating.

Whatever’s still open on that list is what Q4 will find first.
